The UniFi Protect system is fairly easy to use, and under active development. ("Protect" is their new software, which is replacing the old UniFi Video offering.) There are no ongoing license fees. But you are limited to using UniFi cameras. They recently released their first "G4" camera, and I'm sure there will be more coming.
